vCard QR Code Generator
Turn your contact details into a digital business card. One scan, one new contact.
Make my contact QR code →A vCard QR code is a modern, paper-free business card. Instead of handing over a card that ends up in a drawer, you share a code people scan to save your name, phone, email, company and website straight into their phone — instantly.
How to make a digital business card
- Open the Contact tab in the QRaft generator.
- Fill in your details — name, phone, email, plus optional company, job title and website.
- Download as PNG, SVG or 4K — all free — for crisp printing.
- Share it on cards, signage, your email signature, or as a phone wallpaper.
Why professionals love it
- Always up to date — regenerate the code whenever your details change.
- Faster networking — no typos, no manual entry at events.
- Eco-friendly & cheap — no reprinting boxes of paper cards.
- Looks sharp — match the colors to your brand.
Why vCard codes fail to scan — and how to fix it
A vCard QR code is different from a link QR code in one important way: it carries the whole contact inside the code rather than pointing somewhere. Every field you add makes the code physically denser — more little squares packed into the same area — and past a certain point phone cameras start to struggle, especially in poor light or from a printed card.
If your code looks like a fine-grained mess rather than a clean pattern, that is the problem.
- Include only what matters. Name, one phone number, one email, and the website. Every extra field costs scan reliability.
- Drop the long job title and the full postal address unless someone genuinely needs to post you something. These two are usually the worst offenders.
- Use a short URL.
yoursite.comrather than a long profile link with tracking parameters attached. - Print it bigger. A dense vCard code needs more room than a simple link code — 2.5 cm is a sensible floor on a business card.
- Raise error correction only if you must. It helps a damaged code survive, but it also adds data and makes the pattern denser, so it can make matters worse here.
If you cannot get it small enough, point a normal link QR code at a contact page on your site instead. It scans far more easily, and you can change the details later without reprinting.
What happens when someone scans it
- iPhone — the camera offers a Contacts prompt; tapping it opens a pre-filled new contact to save.
- Android — the same, though some cameras show the raw details first and need a second tap.
- Nothing is sent anywhere. The contact is read straight out of the code, offline, which is why it keeps working with no internet and no service behind it.
- Because the details live in the code, changing your number means reprinting. If your details change often, link to a page instead.
vCard QR code FAQ
Why will my vCard QR code not scan?
Almost always too much data. A vCard carries the whole contact inside the code, so every extra field makes the pattern denser and harder for a camera to read. Keep it to name, one phone number, one email and a short website, and print it at least 2.5 cm wide.
Can I change my details without reprinting?
Not with a vCard code, because the details live inside the code itself. If your number or job changes often, point a normal link QR code at a contact page on your site instead, and edit that page whenever you need to.
What is a vCard QR code?
A QR code containing your contact details in the vCard standard. Scanning it lets a phone save you as a new contact in one tap.
Does it work on all phones?
Yes — vCard is a long-standing standard that iPhone and Android both recognise from the camera or a scanner app.
Is my information private?
Yes. The code is built in your browser; your details are never uploaded to QRaft and live only inside the image you download.
Where should I put it?
Business cards, flyers, email signatures, LinkedIn, or your phone's lock screen for instant sharing at events.
