Free Spotify QR Code Generator
Send fans straight to your music — one scan opens your track, playlist or podcast on Spotify.
Make my Spotify QR code → Want the Spotify Code instead? →A Spotify QR code turns your share link into a scannable image fans can use anywhere — on merch, a gig poster, your packaging or your socials. Unlike a Spotify Code (which only works inside the app), a standard QR scans with any phone camera, on screen or in print, so more people reach your music in one tap.
Spotify Code or QR code — which do you need?
These are two different things, and a search for a "Spotify code generator" can mean either.
A Spotify Code is Spotify's own graphic — the sound-wave bar under the album art in the app. It scans only from inside Spotify's own search screen; a phone camera will not open it, and neither will any other scanner. If that is the one you want, our Spotify Code generator makes it in your own colours and sizes, ready to download as PNG, SVG or JPEG.
A QR code scans with any phone camera. Point, tap the notification, and Spotify opens on the right track, playlist or artist page — whether or not the person already has the app open. That is what the generator above makes, and it is the one you want for posters, merch, packaging, stickers or business cards.
Rule of thumb: a Spotify Code for people already inside Spotify, a QR code for everyone else.
How to create a Spotify QR code
- Copy your link — open the track, playlist, album, artist or podcast → three dots → Share → Copy link.
- Paste it into the Link generator above and your QR code appears instantly.
- Customize the colors, then download a crisp PNG — or SVG/4K for print, all free to make.
- Add it to merch, posters, packaging or socials.
Who this is for
A Spotify QR code earns its place anywhere your audience is not already holding the Spotify app open — which is nearly everywhere in the physical world.
- Independent artists and bands — on the merch table, the tour poster, the sticker you hand out after a set. Someone who has never opened Spotify can still scan it and land on your release.
- Labels and distributors — on vinyl inserts, promo one-sheets and press kits, where the recipient may be a journalist or buyer rather than a listener.
- Podcasters — on a slide, a conference badge or the back of a business card. Podcast discovery happens off-platform far more than on it.
- Venues, bars and cafés — the code by the till that answers "what is this song?" and keeps your room's taste in someone's library afterwards.
- Weddings and events — a table card pointing at the playlist. Guests scan without anyone explaining what a Spotify Code is. See the Spotify playlist QR code guide.
- Packaging and print — product inserts, thank-you cards, zines and flyers. Print is where a QR code beats a link, because there is nothing to type.
Where it beats a Spotify Code
Both open the same music, so pick by audience rather than by looks. A Spotify Code is the better badge when you are speaking to people already inside Spotify — it looks like Spotify, and that recognition is worth something on a sleeve or a merch print.
A QR code wins everywhere else, because it needs no particular app. If the thing you are printing will be seen by a general audience — a shop window, a street poster, a wedding table, a product box — use the QR code. If you are unsure, use the QR code: it never fails on someone who does not have Spotify installed, whereas a Spotify Code always will.
Tips for a code that always scans
- Use the Copy link share option (not a screenshot of a Spotify Code).
- Add a caption: "Scan to listen on Spotify".
- Keep strong contrast and a white margin around the code.
- Print large on posters so it scans from a distance.
